STOCKHOLM (Dow Jones)--The Icelandic trade deficit widened to ISK11.4 billion ($170.7 million) in January from ISK4.3 billion the previous year, Statistics Iceland said Friday.
Exports amounted to ISK14.10 billion, while imports were ISK25.50 billion.
Iceland's macroeconomic indicators have been in focus this week after ratings agency Fitch Ratings Tuesday downgraded its outlook on Iceland's sovereign debt rating to negative from stable.
