Statistics Finland, the Finnish state statistics agency, said on Thursday (13 April) that the year-on-year change in consumer prices (i.e. inflation) was the same in March 2006 as in February, at 0.9%.
Consumer prices were pushed up most in the year by higher prices of liquid fuels. Increased prices of dwellings and increased rents as well as higher restaurant prices and public transport prices also had an impact on inflation.
From February to March 2006 consumer prices increased by 0.3%, principally due to the ending of clothes sales.
