Stockholm, April 26th 2006 - Pieter Zylstra, the former Global Mobility Leader, Europe and Asia Pacific at Capgemini, is joining Appear Networks as Sales and Business Development Director, EMEA and Asia Pacific. Mr. Zylstra brings extensive industry experience within the field of mobility transformation to Appear Networks and will be managing the European sales and business development activities in Stockholm, Utrecht, Madrid, London and Rome.

Appear Networks has developed Appear IQ, an intelligent wireless communication platform to meet the needs of mobile users based on their personal characteristics, job responsibilities, physical location, bandwidth capacity, time-of-day, device type and more. Appear IQ has been deployed in several European countries to support large number of frontline workers in Wi-Fi and GPRS environments, such as Dutch Rail's 10 000 mobile staff.

Mr. Zylstra is joining Appear from Capgemini, one of the world's leading technology consultancy companies, where he was responsible for building and delivering Capgemini's mobility solutions portfolio, driving global mobility partnerships and managing sales of innovative mobile solutions for Capgemini's international client base in Europe and the Asia Pacific region. During this tenure, he also led the development of the @Anyplace Access solution, a fully secure, end-to-end, integrated Wi-Fi platform solution designed by Capgemini and based upon open standards technology from Intel, Cisco and Appear Networks.

"Knowing that both telcos and enterprises are still struggling to bring effective mobile solutions to the point of demand, there is a genuine need for the solution that Appear offers to the market. With several of the largest European mobile workforce deployments under way, Appear Networks is uniquely positioned to deliver the next generation of context-aware mobile solutions," commented Mr. Zylstra. "I am very excited about joining the talented team at Appear, especially as the mobile industry enters a phase of strong growth again".

Prior to his five years at Capgemini, Mr. Zylstra worked internationally within the communications field as a strategy consultant for T-Mobile AsiaPac and BT Europe as well as an independent wireless entrepreneur. He is currently a member of the board of advisors of The Initiative Foundation, an organization focusing on building wireless networks in developing countries across the world.

Mr. Zylstra graduated in organizational science at the Twente University of Technology, and read Javanese anthropology and philosophy at Leyden University and Gadjah Mada University. Mr. Zylstra speaks eight languages and is a frequent speaker in the wireless industry, focusing on the latest developments within the wireless industry and how it affects our daily lives.

"We are very pleased to have Pieter joining our team", said Xavier Aubry, Chief Operating Officer at Appear Networks. "After working with him for several years on customer engagements, we fully appreciate the value of his knowledge, experience and network within the mobile industry and we are confident that he will be an invaluable addition to our team as we work to deliver context-aware solutions to mobile workforces around the world."
