Hundreds of airline employees are reportedly expected to lose their jobs as the Danish budget airlines Sterling and Maersk Air merge. Sterling had reportedly told the Danish daily newspaper Jyllands-Posten that many people shared the same posts in the two companies, and that some would be made redundant after the carriers were united. The cutbacks were reportedly expected to reach a few hundred out of the two companies' total of 2,000 workers. Personnel organisations expect the cutbacks to mainly affect ground workers. The two carriers will merge on Tuesday (13 September), reported the online edition of the Danish newspaper Copenhagen Post.
