The rise in Iceland's consumer prices has continued to accelerate in April, national statistics agency Statistics Iceland said on Wednesday (12 April).
The consumer price index rose 5.5% on the year and 1.14% on the month. By contrast CPI inflation was an annual 4.5% and a monthly 1.1% in March.
From March to April prices rose 6.7% on fuel and 4.1% on new cars.
Owner-occupied housing costs increased by 1.8%, while clothing and footwear were 3.0% more expensive than in the previous month.
