London-based, Icelandic investment fund Novator has requested information from the Serbian Privatisation Committee regarding the planned sale of a 65% share in government-owned telecommunication company Telekom Srpske, sources close to the situation told Icelandic Financial News (IFN) on Friday (8 September).
The Serbian Privatisation Committee announced the planned auction last month and expects to earn EUR400m from the sale of the stake.
Telecommunication companies Telekom Serbia, Mobilkom Austria, Magyar Telekom, Simesta, Telenor, Valiva and PlanetSky are also believed to have requested information about Telekom Srpske.
Novator focuses on telecommunication investments, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe, and has secured the option to acquire a 65% stake in Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC) from Advent-controlled holding company Vive Ventures.
One euro (EUR) is worth approximately 0.67 British pounds (GBP).
