(IFN) Flag carrier Icelandair plans listing in the autumn

Reykjavik (IFN) Icelandic flag carrier Icelandair still plans go ahead with its planned initial public offering (IPO) in the autumn, chief executive Jon Karl Olafsson told IFN on Wednesday.

Preparations for the listing have been completed, but unfavourable market conditions delayed the floatation, which was first announced in February.

The listing could therefore take place with short notice, Olafsson said.

Icelandic investment company FL Group owns Icelandair, as well as Danish budget airline Sterling Airlines.

Hannes Smarason, FL Group's chief excectuve, said at the company's second quarter earnings presentation, that listing Icelandair on the Icelandic Stock Exchange was still planned before the end of the year, when market conditions improved.
