Norwegian wireless products and solutions provider Nera ASA said on Thursday (30 November) that its subsidiary Nera SatCom AS had received Inmarsat Type Approval for the world's smallest mobile broadband satellite terminal, the Nera WorldPro 1000. Nera SatCom was now ready for commercial launch as the first BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network) terminal supplier. Nera said that it had already started shipping the first terminals to customers and has a significant order backlog of the new Nera WorldPro 1000 from distributors around the world, indicating strong market demand.
