Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia announced on Tuesday (14 February) its newest network security appliance, the Nokia IP560, a 1RU appliance that is claimed to deliver superior security, manageability, firewall performance and port density. The Nokia IP560 features the Nokia IPSO operating system designed specifically for network security use, and Check Point VPN-1 Pro with SecureXL. It provides medium and large businesses with high-end performance and features at an unmatched midrange price point, according to the company. Along with the Nokia IP560, Nokia also announced a 10 Gigabit Ethernet interface card as an expansion option for its flagship firewall/VPN appliance, the Nokia IP2250.
