Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia said on Thursday (20 April) that Qualcomm had filed a Form 10-Q report with US Securities and Exchange Commission concerning its licensing agreement with Nokia.
If no new agreement is reached, Nokia's right to sell subscriber products under most of Qualcomm's patents and Nokia's obligation to pay royalties would both cease under the terms of the current agreement by April 2007.
The company's rights to sell integrated circuits under Nokia's patents would likewise cease under the terms of the current agreement, the report said.
Nokia said that terms of its current licence agreement with Qualcomm are covered by a non-disclosure agreement and the company was therefore unable to disclose specific contract details.
