The Norwegian electronic components developer and manufacturer Nordic Semiconductor ASA said on Monday (20 February) that it had signed a licence contract with the Finnish telecommunications solutions provider Nokia. The agreement covers intellectual property rights to Nokia's low-power local connectivity technology for sensor, accessory and watch applications. Nordic Semiconductor intends to begin the development of devices based on the technology. The products are expected to begin shipping by the end of the year and to generate revenues in 2007. The financial details of the licence agreement were not disclosed.
