Finnish pharmaceutical company Orion Corporation said on Monday (24 April) that its Wholesale and Distribution Division was starting personnel negotiations for measures to improve efficiency and optimise capacity utilisation in pharmaceutical distribution.
The planned rearrangements would enable Oriola Oy to reduce the number of regional wholesale centres in Finland by shutting down the sites in Seinajoki and Kuopio and by centralising the deliveries of pharmaceuticals and healthcare products as well as the main part of services into Espoo and Oulu.
The negotiations would concern the 90 Oriola employees in Seinajoki and Kuopio.
The full action plan is aiming at annual cost savings of about EUR5m, with full impact as of 2007.
One euro (EUR) is worth approximately 0.69 British pounds (GBP).
