Finnish minerals and metals processing technology group Outokumpu Technology Oyj said on Friday (29 September) that it has received a contract from ThyssenKrupp CSA Companhia Siderurgica (CSA), an iron ore producer based in Brazil.

The contract, which is valued at a total of EUR160m, covers the design and delivery of a sinter plant for CSA in Sepetiba, Rio de Janeiro. Some EUR90m of the contract value will be recognised as sales of Outokumpu Technology, while approximately 65% of the contracted services and supplies will be sourced locally in Brazil.

Outokumpu Technology's scope of work under the contract covers the entire engineering, supply of process equipment, construction and start-up of the turnkey sinter plant.

The plant is scheduled to commence operation in 2009.

One euro (EUR) is worth approximately 0.67 British pounds (GBP).
