The Swedish-Finnish telecomms operator TeliaSonera said on Thursday (6 July) that its 65%-owned investment company Overseas Telecom AB has sold its 32% investment in Ugandan operator MTN Uganda.
The shares were sold to MTN International (Mauritius) Ltd, a subsidiary of South African MTN Group Ltd, for SEK1.2bn.
The sale will have a positive effect of approximately SEK600m on TeliaSonera's earnings for the third quarter.
One Swedish krona (SEK) is worth approximately 0.07 British pounds (GBP).
