Pöyry's Forest Industry business group has been commissioned to provide engineering services for the rebuild of the recovery line at UPM-Kymmene Oyj's Kymi pulp mill at Kuusankoski, Finland. The total value of the assignment is about EUR 10 million.
Services include implementation engineering for the investment project as well as project co-ordination services. The assignment also includes services for organizing document management between the project parties. A substantial part of the engineering work will be performed at Pöyry's office in Kouvola, with units from the Vantaa office participating in the project.
The rebuilt recovery plant will improve the cost competitiveness and product quality of the Kymi mill. The recovery line will be started up in the last quarter of 2008.
This assignment stems from UPM-Kymmene's and Pöyry's longstanding co-operation in the implementation of industrial investment projects.
