The Swedish Red Cross announced on Friday (18 November) that it is to send a mobile phone ring tone devised by Benny Andersson of the pop group ABBA to all Swedes who donate SEK50 (approximately USD6) to the charity's Christmas collection campaign. The new ring tone, entitled Red Xmas, can be obtained by texting a message to a donation number that has been set up by the charity. The SEK50 donation will then be added to the user's phone bill and a link to download the ring tone will be sent to the users mobile phone, reported The Associated Press. According to the The Associated Press, the campaign aims to raise at least SEK22m (USD2.7m) to help the charity's activities in Sweden.
