Scandinavian airline group SAS reported on Monday (7 November) that its number of transported passengers had increased by 12% year-on-year to 3.3m passengers in October 2005. Total passenger traffic (RPK) in October had increased by 8.5%, according to SAS, while capacity (ASK) increased by 0.6%. Overall group passenger load increased by 5.1 percentage points to 70.3% in September 2005, as compared to October 2004. SAS Group's European traffic increased by 16.5% and passenger load factor improved by 7.0 percentage points, while SAS Braathens' traffic was up by 9.2%. Spanair's traffic increased by 14.2%, while Scandinavian Airlines Sverige's load factor increased by 12.5 percentage points to 66.0%. Traffic numbers of SAS's Finnish subsidiary Blue1 were up by 25%.
