The Swedish construction group Skanska announced on Friday (7 April) that it has won its largest ever construction project, the public private partnership project to redevelop St Bartholomew's Hospital and The Royal London Hospital in London in the United Kingdom.
The contract was signed by the consortium company Capital Hospitals, in which Skanska will invest GBP45m for its 37.5% share. The other participants are Innisfree and Equion.
Through its participation in Capital Hospitals Skanska will receive a GBP1bn contract to design, refurbish and expand St Bartholomew's Hospital in the City of London and The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. In addition Skanska will manage the facilities for 42 years under a contract valued at approximately GBP7.5m per year.
The project is scheduled for completion in 2016.
