Swedish domestic air travellers will have to show identification on domestic flights from 1 May if they bring luggage to be carried in the hold. Travellers will have to show identification to prove that the same person who hands in a bag also boards the aircraft, according to the Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter. The new rules are reportedly an extension of rules from September 2005 that require airlines to check the identity of travellers for all international departures both at check-in and boarding. The new rules for domestic flights apply both to check-in and at the gate.
